THE CREDIT VALLEY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION Members of Teamsters Local 419 1890 Meyerside Dr. Mississauga, ON L5T 1B4 Dear Roots of our Community Member; Tuesday November 14th, 2006 marked the annual Roots of Our Community Tribute Luncheon. More than 75 guests were in attendance and we were proud to honour and thank the various community groups who host events in support of The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation. We are sorry you were unable to attend. We missed seeing you and thanking you in person for your contribution to Credit Valley. We have respectfully enclosed your Roots of Our Community recognition plaque along with a copy of the advertisement we placed in the November 15th issue of The Mississauga News. Your ongoing support of our $50 Million campaign has made a real difference to patient care at Credit Valley. Your contribution enabled us to open The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre and the Vijay Jeet and Neena Kanwar Ambulatory Care Centre. We are pleased to report that to date we have raised $48 Million of our $50 Million goal. At our luncheon, Norma Bandler, President and CEO of The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation, updated the attendees on the next expansion to happen at Credit Valley and we wanted to share some of her remarks with you. “With more than 5,000 babies born at Credit Valley every year we are in desperate need of a new facility. Building a Regional Maternal Child Centre at Credit Valley will mean world-class care “closer to home” for the women and children in our communities. Until now, women with high-risk pregnancies and children requiring a sophisticated level of care would be treated at the downtown hospitals. With our new expansion, Credit Valley will be able to provide world-class care right here in our own community. Our new facility will focus on a child-friendly and family-oriented approach to care. It will provide specialized health care services to low and high risk maternal and newborn patients in the communities of Peel, Halton and beyond. The 275,000 square foot expansion will also include at least 140 additional inpatient beds, an expanded laboratory, and more labour and delivery rooms. Equally important, the increased inpatient beds will significantly improve traffic in our emergency department allowing patients to be admitted faster to our hospital.” We thank you for your tremendous support of the hospital and hope you will continue to support us as we continue to provide World Class care for all the patients we serve. Yours truly Ashlee Killip Development Coordinator, Community Events
